EF Studios Terms & Conditions

At EF Studios, every piece is designed and handcrafted in Melbourne with care, precision, and integrity.
These Terms and Conditions outline our policies relating to warranty, refunds, exchanges, bespoke work, cancellations, and gold recycling, as well as production timelines and client responsibility.

By confirming a quote, placing an order, or submitting gold for recycling, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1.1 Warranty

EF Studios offers a limited 6-month manufacturing warranty covering craftsmanship faults.
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from misuse, impact, or neglect
- Lost or chipped gemstones or diamonds
- Loss, theft, or alterations by third parties
- Oxidised or fading plating, broken chains, cracked or damaged stones or pearls, or bending of rings or earrings.
Complimentary cleaning and inspection are available within this period.
Repairs, resizing, or refinishing outside the warranty will be quoted individually.
Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
The warranty is non-transferable and valid only for the original purchaser.

1.2 Refunds & Exchanges

EF Studios does not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for change of mind, incorrect sizing provided, or custom/bespoke items.
This applies to all items including engagement rings, wedding bands, fine jewellery, and sale items.
If an item is deemed faulty due to a verified manufacturing issue, EF Studios will repair or replace it at no cost within the warranty period.
Damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidental impact, misuse, or neglect is not eligible for replacement or free repair.
Refunds or exchanges will not be granted if the item shows signs of wear or improper care.
Any alteration or repair completed outside EF Studios voids the warranty.
Gift cards and store credits are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

For repairs outside of the warranty period, EF Studios offers a paid repair service, with quotes provided upon inspection.

2. Cancellations

All bespoke and made-to-order pieces are non-refundable once design work, materials, or production has commenced.
Deposits are non-refundable unless EF Studios cancels the order.
Orders cancelled prior to CAD design approval may be eligible for a partial credit at EF Studios’ discretion.
Once CAD design or production has begun, no cancellations or changes can be made.
Refunds will not be issued after final design approval or commencement of production.

3. Bespoke Orders

3.1 Quotes

All quotes are valid for 7 days from the date of issue.
Prices are subject to change after this period to reflect variations in metal and gemstone markets.
Once a deposit is received, pricing is secured unless the client requests design or material changes.

3.2 Deposits & Payments

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your bespoke order and begin design and production.
The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion, before collection or delivery.
Payments can be made via the website or EF Studios store credit (from gold recycling or prior gift cards).
Non-payment of the balance within 30 days of completion may result in the item being retained or resold to recover costs.

3.3 Design Approval

An initial CAD design or sketch will be provided approximately 7 days after order confirmation.
Clients may request up to two design amendments at no extra cost.
Once approved, production will begin.
Design changes requested after approval or during production may incur additional costs and extend lead times.

3.4 Production & Timelines

Each EF Studios piece is individually handcrafted in Melbourne.
Production time is typically 6–8 weeks from final design approval or website purchase.
Timelines are estimates and may vary depending on gemstone sourcing, casting, or setting.
In the case of unforeseen production delays, EF Studios will notify clients with updated completion estimates.

4. Gold Recycling Program

4.1 Eligibility

EF Studios accepts solid gold in 9k, 14k, 18k, 22k, or 24k yellow, white, or rose gold.
Gold-plated, gold-filled, vermeil, or silver pieces are not eligible.
Jewellery may be submitted in any condition, including broken pieces.
Gemstones and diamonds are excluded from valuation but can be removed and returned (stone removal fees may apply).

4.2 Valuation Process

Each piece is weighed, inspected, and tested to determine purity and gold content.
A valuation quote is provided based on the current market (spot) price per gram at the time of assessment.
A 10% handling fee applies for refining, processing, and administration.
Once approved in writing, ownership of the gold transfers to EF Studios (or its refining partner).

4.3 Store Credit

The remaining value after the handling fee is issued as EF Studios store credit via digital gift card.
Credit is valid for 24 months, non-transferable, and non-refundable.
It can be redeemed toward any bespoke or ready-to-wear piece.
Clients will receive an email receipt and digital gift card upon processing.

4.4 Responsibility & Ownership

Ownership of gold transfers to EF Studios once the valuation is approved.
EF Studios is not responsible for loss or damage to items in transit before receipt; insured and trackable postage with signature is recommended.
Once processed, gold cannot be reclaimed or returned.

5. Client-Supplied Gemstones or Materials

EF Studios will handle client-supplied gemstones, diamonds, or heirloom gold with great care.
Due to the nature of vintage or pre-owned materials, EF Studios cannot be held liable for damage, breakage, or loss during setting, polishing, or production.
Clients acknowledge this risk before work begins.

6. Collection, Delivery & Risk

Clients will be notified when their piece is complete.
Balances must be paid in full before collection or shipment.
All shipments are sent via insured and trackable post.
Risk transfers to the client once the parcel is delivered or signed for.

7. Photography & Marketing

EF Studios may photograph completed pieces for use on our website, social media, or marketing materials.
Clients wishing to keep their design private must advise EF Studios in writing before completion.

8. Liability & Disclaimer

EF Studios reserves the right to decline any commission at its discretion.
Natural gemstones may vary in tone, colour, and inclusions compared to digital images.
All timelines are estimates; delays may occur due to external production factors.
EF Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential loss from delay, defect, or non-delivery.
